Iain McLaughlin Appointed the New Head of Recruitment for KPMG

GlaxoSmithKline talent management leader joins KPMG
The professional services firm has appointed a new Head of Recruitment.
Iain McLaughlin (pictured left) joins KPMG from the global pharmaceutical firm GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) where he held a number of roles across its HR and talent management functions during the past six years. Most recently he was GSK's Global Talent Business Leader, and in this capacity he worked closely with a number of commercial businesses in the emerging markets.
Michelle Quest, UK Head of People, KPMG, comments: “I am very pleased that someone of Iain’s calibre and experience is joining us. Recruitment is central to our growth plans and an effective recruitment function can provide a business with a real competitive advantage.”
McLaughlin adds: “I am delighted to be joining KPMG, a major employer and one of the biggest graduate recruiters in the country. The recruitment market has become more buoyant across the board in recent months. Demand has grown and so has supply, as people have become more confident about leaving their present position for other jobs.
“I look forward to making sure that KPMG’s recruitment function can continue to be one of the best in the market, providing the business with the responsive and flexible tools it needs.”
The appointment comes at a time when the auditor is planning to increase the headcount of its European workforce from 30,000 to 38,000 over the next three years. In the UK alone KPMG is intending to increase its headcount by 3,000.
