Cynthia McCague, who led key efforts on diversity and employee relations at Coca-Cola Co., will retire from the company, Coca-Cola announced Tuesday in a memo to employees.

McCague, senior vice president and director of human resources, worked for the Coca-Cola system for 28 years. She led the human resources function for Greek bottler Coca-Cola Hellenic from 1998 to 2004 before taking her most recent post at Coca-Cola.
McCague led the completion of the company’s U.S. Diversity Task Force oversight period, created a global network of People Development Forums and re-established Coca-Cola's Global Labor Relations function.
Ceree Eberly, currently group human resources director for Europe, will succeed McCague on December 1 under the renamed role of Chief People Officer.
