Tennessee Valley Authority Appoints Steve McMillen as the Vice President of Talent Management

KNOXVILLE -- Steve McMillen has been named the new vice president of the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Talent Management group, TVA said Thursday.
McMillen will oversee work force planning, leadership development, performance and competency management, succession planning, learning and development and compensation models.
“Steve has proven his ability to identify, promote, develop, and retain talent in several major companies, including Hillenbrand Industries, the Thompson Corp. and O’Charley’s,” Janet Herrin, executive vice president of TVA’s People and Performance organization, said in a statement.
McMillen brings more than 20 years of experience in talent management and leadership development. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northern Kentucky University and a doctorate in education from the University of Cincinnati.
McMillen succeeds Susan Stout, who had served as acting vice president of Talent Management since December 2009. Stout returned to a previous position with TVA as senior manager of Talent Sourcing and Support Services group.
